Thermo Fisher Scientific purchases Al. Neyer facility for new manufacturing plant

Design-build developer Al. Neyer announces the sale of a 375,000-square-foot facility in Mebane, NC to Thermo Fisher Scientific, a global life sciences company that’s planning hundreds of new jobs in Orange County, NC.

From Triangle Business Journal:

In September, Thermo Fisher Scientific (NYSE: TMO) paid $41 million for the new 375,000-square-foot Building One on 26 acres in the Buckhorn Industrial Park at 6086 West Ten Road in Mebane just south of Interstate 85. The seller is Al. Neyer, a commercial real estate developer based in Cincinnati with an office in Raleigh.

The Massachusetts-based company, which plans to create up to 200 jobs at the Mebane site, had expected to occupy the spec building by this summer. The deed for the property transaction is dated Sept. 14.

A smaller second building at the Buckhorn Industrial Park is available, the park’s website indicates. Building Two is 205,200 square feet with 48 locking dock bays, 53 trailer stalls and 151 parking spots.

Al. Neyer, which entered the Triangle market in 2019, also built the Garner Business Park 70, the Amazon (Nasdaq: AMZN) building in east Raleigh and the Cancer Diagnostics building in Durham. The company focuses on build-to-suit office, medical, industrial, mixed-use and residential projects throughout the eastern United States.
