Named for The Cincinnati Herald, the city’s award-winning African-American newspaper, The Herald Building is the first registered for LEED-Certified status in the Burnet Avenue revitalization in Cincinnati’s Avondale neighborhood. Designed by our partner DNK Architects, Inc., the mixed-use building houses The Herald offices, street retail and offices for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Public/private developer Uptown Consortium chose Al. Neyer and DNK Architects to deliver a LEED-Certified building that would fit the vibe of the urban neighborhood, lease at competitive rates, provide a market return and come in at a guaranteed maximum price. The building professionals work with the Avondale Community Council to recruit area residents for entry-level and trade jobs on the site as well as subcontractors.
