December 15, 2004 Al. Neyer, Inc. receives national honor from Design-Build Institute of America The Historic Ford Factory project wins Design-Build Award of Excellence at annual conference in Chicago
The Design-Build Institute of America honored Al. Neyer’s The Historic Ford Factory project with a 2004 Design-Build Award of Excellence in the Rehabilitation/Renovation/Restoration category. The Design-Build Institute is the leading professional and educational organization focusing on the design-build method of integrated project delivery. Its national conference and awards program has become the largest and most significant design-build event in the world. The Historic Ford Factory developer, 660 Lincoln LLC, purchased the vacant 1915 building in 2001 and hired Al. Neyer to direct pre-development, design and construction of the six-story, 200,000 square foot former Ford Motor Co. Model T automobile assembly plant. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places. “The Historic Ford Factory has architectural and historic significance in Cincinnati,” said David F. Neyer, president and chief executive officer of Al. Neyer, Inc. “This kind of recognition is valuable, because it underscores the importance of revitalizing our city neighborhoods. The project was complex, but ultimately very rewarding in terms of its impact on the community.” The Historic Ford Factory is 100% leased to corporate tenants like Fisher Design and Children’s Hospital Medical Center, barely one year after completion of construction. Its architectural features have been preserved, as have the loft-like, industrial qualities, making it one of the most creative and unique office buildings in the region. Founded in 1894, Al. Neyer, Inc. is a Cincinnati-based real estate developer and design-build firm that focuses on commercial, industrial and urban development.
