June 2009 Cassandra Riley, CIT, awarded top honor from National Association of Women in Construction regional chapter “Foremost Leader is the most prestigious award given in our region,” according to Janet Sullivan, NAWIC Director of Region 4. “The nominees are innovative leaders, mentors, tireless volunteers and contribute to NAWIC at all levels.” “It’s a great honor to receive this award,” Ms. Riley says. “I truly love what I do, so encouraging other women to excel in this field is just second nature.” “ Ms. Riley joined Al. Neyer in 1998 and estimates she has worked on at least 60 projects for the 115-year-old real estate development, finance and design-build firm. At Al. Neyer, she is principally responsible for all construction documents from start to completion of a project, and for all prevailing wage and certified payroll, when required. Ms. Riley received the Foremost Member Award at NAWIC’s Region 4 Forum, held in NAWIC was founded in 1953 and continues to enhance the success of women in the construction industry by encouraging continuing education and through partnership with dozens of other professional organizations.
