Cassandra Riley, CIT, awarded top honor from National Association of Women in Construction regional chapter

Cincinnati -- Cassandra “Candy” Riley, CIT, Senior Administrative Coordinator at Al. Neyer, Inc., recently received the “Foremost Member Award” by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) in the organization’s Fourth Region.  

“Foremost Leader is the most prestigious award given in our region,” according to Janet Sullivan, NAWIC Director of Region 4. “The nominees are innovative leaders, mentors, tireless volunteers and contribute to NAWIC at all levels.”

“It’s a great honor to receive this award,” Ms. Riley says. “I truly love what I do, so encouraging other women to excel in this field is just second nature.”

Candy Riley exemplifies dedication and professionalism,” according to William Neyer, Al. Neyer’s Executive Vice President, Design-Build.  “She is well-deserving of this honor that especially recognizes her outstanding leadership abilities.”  This year, Ms. Riley also was named a 2009 Leading Woman for Office Support.

Ms. Riley joined Al. Neyer in 1998 and estimates she has worked on at least 60 projects for the 115-year-old real estate development, finance and design-build firm. At Al. Neyer, she is principally responsible for all construction documents from start to completion of a project, and for all prevailing wage and certified payroll, when required.

Ms. Riley received the Foremost Member Award at NAWIC’s Region 4 Forum, held in Lexington, Ky. Her NAWIC involvement begin in 1986 in Hawaii, where she held the offices of president elect, president, immediate past president and vice president, among others. In NAWIC Cincinnati Chapter 24, Ms. Riley also has held the office of president.

NAWIC was founded in 1953 and continues to enhance the success of women in the construction industry by encouraging continuing education and through partnership with dozens of other professional organizations.
