Parking Bolsters City Neighborhood

Vine and Central Gateway is anchored by a parking garage developed by the City of  Cincinnati for daytime use by employees of Kroger Co., one of downtown Cincinnati’s largest corporate citizens.

Al. Neyer met the City’s 12-month construction schedule, despite fierce winter weather and the discovery of underground storage chambers, which had to be removed. The parking garage provided the springboard for condominium and retail development on the site, under a separate agreement but requiring cohesive design and execution. Two glass-enclosed stair towers on key corners punctuate the garage with its “gateway” design element and helped it win industry recognition for design-build excellence.
