Entering downtown Cincinnati from the south or west, it's impossible to overlook several landmark buildings that delineate the central business district from the riverfront nearby. One is at the prominent corner of Third and Plum streets, a 1903 structure that once housed the Crown Overall Manufacturing Co.

The building is an important part of the city's architectural and manufacturing heritage, David Neyer, CEO of Al. Neyer, Inc., said, "It's a signature property, and we're proud to make it our new address."

When Neyer acquired the property in 2000, it had long been vacant, but retained a hint of its past grandeur, with high ceilings and a Rookwood tile entryway.

Neyer engineers determined that three floors could be added to the original five, offering an opportunity to accommodate larger corporate tenants.  The additional stories enhance the building's expansive view of the Ohio River, the Bengals' Paul Brown Stadium, the Reds' Great American Ball Park and the Roebling Bridge, John Roebling's model for the Brooklyn Bridge. After 14 months, the restoration and adaptive reuse of 302 W. Third St. was complete, strengthening the entryway into downtown with a structure of historic significance and modern convenience.
